the grounds
The Meadows at Castleton is a sprawling 500-acre estate wrapped in a five-mile paved footpath. There are different addresses for the wedding ceremony & welcome party because they’re situated on different ends of the estate, both with their own parking areas. Please feel free to refer to the following map.
arrival
On wedding day, we ask that you plan to arrive between 3-3:15pm for an opportunity to settle in before the procession. We promise it will be worth it, as there is plenty of beauty to take in on grounds. The ceremony will begin promptly at 3:30pm.
accommodations
If you’re traveling from out of town, we are pleased to announce that limited accommodations are available onsite! If you’re interested in staying on site, please message us by July 20th and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.
Otherwise, we recomend that you explore local Airbnb’s or bed & breakfasts near Sperryville or “Little Washington.” For more affordable options, you can explore hotels in Culpeper or Warrenton as well. We’re happy to help you find the right stay in your price point, so please don’t hesitate to message us with any lodging-related questions.
attire
Please plan to wear festive dress and sensible shoes. (Think somewhere between cocktail party chic and field party comfort). Ridiculous outfits welcome. If you’re trying to step it up with fancy feet, we recommend opting for wedges or chunkier heels so that you don’t sink into the earth.
directions
For those traveling from the DC Metro area, we’ve included directions from Warrenton to Castleton (the stretch of the journey you’re likely to loose service). Feel free to refer to the following (or save them on the notes on your phone).
From Warrenton
As you leave Warrenton, you’ll pass a Wawa on your left and then a Food Lion shopping center on your right. Head south on 211 for approximately 16 miles. (Note: Approximately 10 minutes into the drive you’ll pass a 7-11 on your right. For most cell users, this is your last moment of strong cell reception).
After 16 miles, turn left on Richmond Rd (landmark: look for William’s Tree Service where Richmond Rd and 211 meet). Continue for 5 miles.
Turn right onto Laurel Mills rd. Continue for 3 miles.
Turn right onto Hope Hill Rd. Continue for .4 miles.
Castleton Meadows Ln will be on your right! Park in the lot near the marquee tent.
a note about cell service
Castleton is a small village at the base of the Shenandoah National Park. Beyond the sweeping views and lush landscape, you’ll notice a lack of traffic lights, grocery stores, and… cell phone towers. That being said, we ask that you please plan to set your GPS before you leave civilization to ensure that you don’t get lost! Once you arrive to the venue, you can use their wifi.
